We've all heard the phrase "I'm in your corner." ~ I can distinctively remember the first time someone said this to me, it was just after I had decided I needed and hired a personal trainer. It was absolutely amazing how powerful those 4 little words were at the time, just knowing I "had someone" in my corner ~ was what felt like 1/2 the battle of showing up and being present. I mean if she was willing to be in my corner and show up, then I also needed to be willing to do the same.
Accountability at it's best.
Last night I had a conversation with someone I absolutely love & adore, we were talking about how it's so important to keep ourselves surrounded with good people who truly love and want the best for us. The kind of people we want in "our corner" to back us up and be there when we need them. I told him "If I were ME ~ I would want ME in my corner." he told me that I had made a good point & he agreed that he would also want himself in his corner . . . and of course I agreed, because it's actually brilliant if you think about it.
In all actuality we really only have ourselves to count and rely on 100% ~ this goes hand in hand with keeping good, strong, healthy, supportive people in our "circle" and to keep that circle tight.
Show up ~ be present ~ be your best advocate ~ be supportive ~ keep the promises you make yourself ~ stay strong ~ have your own back and keep yourself in your corner.
