star light, star bright

At our house, we wish on stars ALOT. We make a point almost every night to sit out on our back patio and star gaze, talk about our day and wish to our hearts' content. Wishes can range anywhere from super-powers to a good nights sleep to making a new friend and once someone wished for a chocolate fountain. LOL! Last night we (Jackson, Hannah, me and Lucy May) took our blankets out and cozied up for a long list of wishes. Jackson always announces his wishes out loud, Hannah would never dare do that for fear of a jinx, I wish and tell and Lucy May? she barks. I'm sad to see summer come to an end as the nights are getting chilly. We have shared so many great stories, the best kept secrets and wonderful wishes. Last night Hannah asked me "mom, do you really-truly believe that a wish made on a star can come true?" I said "oh' yes Hannah without a doubt I believe that wishes made on stars can come true." She wanted me to give her an example of something I had wished for and it really-truly did come true. I thought for a minute and said "how about this one? I made a wish and YOU came true!" She smiled and her big brown eyes smiled too Jackson said "I'm sticking with super-powers for now, at least until I grow up." I don't want these two to grow up! My wish tonight is that it won't happen too quickly. ;)
